About Butterbloom

How it began

A Family Kitchen Dream

Butterbloom began in 2012 in a small Colombo kitchen, where founder Eleanor Hayes baked her first wedding cake for a close friend. Word spread quickly — and within a year, she had left her corporate career to pursue baking full time.

Today, Butterbloom is one of Sri Lanka's most loved boutique cake shops, crafting everything from intimate birthday cakes to grand multi-tiered wedding centrepieces. Our team of four bakers share one belief: every occasion deserves something extraordinary.

Our Values

Made with Love

Every cake that leaves our kitchen is crafted by hand with genuine care and attention to detail — because we believe you can taste the difference.

Finest Ingredients

We source locally where possible and never compromise on quality — from free-range eggs to single-origin chocolate and organic flour.

Custom Creations

No two celebrations are the same. We work closely with every customer to design a cake that is uniquely theirs — from flavour to finish.
